Our 100km route starts from the small village of Lungden (4,800m). From here, we climb over the Renjo La pass (5,400m) to the stunning Gokyo valley, with its series of turquoise lakes. Our next summit pass – the Cho La pass (5,420m) takes us past the twin peaks of Lobuche before carrying on up the valley towards Everest Base Camp. After turning around, we head back to Lobuche village and on to the famed Tengboche Monastery (3,867m), with its panoramic views of Everest and the surrounding peaks. The final stretch takes us through the historic trading hub Namche Bazaar (3,500m) to our final destination of Lukla (2,800m).
