Annapurna 100 – Golden Trail Series final!

On 25-27 October, excitement came to Annapurna as Nepal played host to the final of the Golden Trail Series!

With top athletes including Kilian Jornet and Maude Mathys in town, all eyes were on Friday’s marathon-distance race, and it did not fail to deliver. Wrong turns led to heartbreak for some, and even Kilian found the technical downhills challenging, eventually winning the race in 4:46 (a good hour longer than expected).

The 42km race saw some amazing performances from the E&E team. Sunmaya finished 4th female and 22nd overall, minutes away from a podium position. Priya followed in 5th and Prativa also made the top 10 in 8th, later joined by Chhoki in 14th place and Pasang in 25th. All in all, great runs against some of the best athletes in the world.

There was more excitement to come the following day as the 55km and 100km races set off from Dhampus. Again, the E&E team was well represented in the women’s top 10, with Rashila placing 4th and sisters Khendo and Lam Butti in 7th and 8th.

Finally, a huge thanks to GTS ladies’ champ Judith Wyder who kindly donated her prize money to Exchange & Empower! A very kind gesture from an incredible athlete.
